Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential to ensure your laminate floors last for their maximum lifespan. Like all wood or wood-composite floors, laminate should not be exposed to standing water always wipe up spills as soon as they happen. With an impenetrable top layer, laminate is designed to clean easily and should only require light, regular cleaning to keep it in the best condition.

Now that your new laminate floors are installed, the next question is: how do you keep them looking their best?
Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential to ensure your floors last for their maximum lifespan.
Like all wood or wood-composite floors, laminate should not be exposed to standing water. Always wipe up spills as soon as they happen.
- Use a damp microfibre mop or a vacuum with a brush attachment (avoid the beater bar) to remove dust and dirt.
- Clean regularly to maintain appearance and prevent buildup.
- Avoid excessive water and detergents, as these can damage the surface or leave residue.
- Proper cleaning and maintenance help extend the lifespan of your laminate floors.
- Never expose laminate flooring to standing water.
- Always wipe up spills as soon as they happen to prevent damage.
- Use minimal moisture when cleaning and ensure the floor is left dry after cleaning.
- For light stains (tea, coffee, cold drinks):
- Spray clean water onto a damp cloth or mop and wipe the area.
- For tougher stains (nail varnish, lipstick):
- Use a small amount of pure acetone (or a similar solution).
- This can remove up to 99% of marks.
- Wipe away any residue afterward with a damp cloth.

Entrance Mats
Trap dirt at entrances using dirt-trapping rugs to stop grit and stones from scratching the surface.
Felt Pads
Use felt pads under furniture and rubber castors on chairs to prevent scratching and indentations.
UV Protection
Use blinds or curtains to block UV rays, which can fade the photographic design layer over time.
Rearrange Periodically
Move furniture and rugs every couple of years to distribute foot traffic evenly across the floor.
